Many mothers consider it an honor to breastfeed their baby. We all hear about the bonding that occurs and the health benefits of breastfeeding. I and many other mothers hate breastfeeding because of all the breastfeeding side effects.
Any breastfeeding mother knows how painful it can be. The nipples can hurt a lot and the pressure can sometimes be unbearable. Nipples usually become very dry that even the most moisturizing creams cannot relieve this. This dryness can cause insane itching and each breastfeeding session can became more painful than the last.
Many breastfeeding mothers argue that these breastfeeding side effects only occur when a mother begins to breastfeed and go away in a matter of months but this is only true for some, other times it can last a lot longer for others.
Sure, there are antibodies in breast milk that can’t be replaced by formula. These antibodies build up your baby’s immune system. Is this true? I know several mothers who swear by using the premium milk for babies by means of bottle feeding and their children are no less healthy than any that were breastfed.
Here are the 10 most common disadvantages for breastfeeding:
1. There can be no discomfort related to breastfeeding. When you first start breastfeeding, you may experience sore nipples. For all the efforts of breastfeeding, the breasts may feel bloated or full of blood.
2. You may lose the milk at the time that are inconvenient or embarrassing. When the baby cries, who almost immediately begins to produce milk. If you are not prepared for it properly, it can be uncomfortable or embarrassing.
3. Feeding your baby in public can be more difficult. While public acceptance of breastfeeding is improvement, there are still some situations where you need to cover during breastfeeding – despite how hot it is outdoors.
4. Everything you eat is happening to your baby. Any food you eat, the medicines you take, or whatever you’re applying to the skin and can most likely be passed to your baby during breastfeeding.
5. You need special clothes and nursing bras. Of nursing bras are expensive, and will also have shirts that button on the front in most cases. While these bras are more comfortable these days, do not offer the greatest comfort in the world.
6. Your baby will start teething at some point. This can be very painful. Prepare to be bitten when the baby starts cutting teeth. If you look at the nipple from a bottle after a teething baby has used it, you can see that he or she has been essentially rubbing the gums – with heels sharp little teeth – in the nipple.
7. The shape and appearance of their breasts may change. While this does not happen to all women, most women report that their nipples become larger and change colors, and some women have sagging breasts before, when breastfeeding their babies.
8. The father may feel excluded. This is usually remedied by pumping the milk and place it in a bottle so that the father can feed the child, but without this effort, the parent may well feel excluded and may fail to properly bond with the baby.
9. The ability to produce, extract and store enough milk can be a problem. If your child goes to the nanny or daycare will have to extract and store breast milk in sufficient time. If you do not produce enough milk to store milk, and to keep the fed baby, this can be a big problem.
10. You can not measure the amount of milk your baby is getting. Some babies need more milk than others, while others need less. Unless you are pumping and measuring milk with a bottle, you will have no real measure of the amount of milk your baby is getting
